About the role

We are growing our infrastructure team in Bitola, Macedonia and looking for an experienced DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to join us on-site.

You will be responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of the platform that processes 2M+ transactions per day in production. This is a hands-on engineering role with broad scope across AWS, Kubernetes, MySQL, and our CI/CD tooling. You will work directly with the infrastructure lead in Amsterdam and the wider engineering organisation distributed across Europe.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate and improve our environments on AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Design and maintain observability (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch) so that incidents are caught early and resolved fast.
  • Optimise CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, FluxCD) for faster, safer delivery.
  • Maintain and tune MySQL databases at scale.
  • Improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of the platform continuously.
  • Participate in security work: implement controls, address vulnerabilities, support PCI-DSS compliance.
  • Participate in incident response when alerts fire.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in a DevOps / SRE / Infrastructure role, with hands-on production responsibility.
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling — GitHub Actions and ideally GitOps tools like FluxCD or ArgoCD.
  • Comfortable scripting in Go, Python, or Bash.
  • Familiarity with observability stacks: Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or equivalents.
  • Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
  • Strong incident-response instincts and a calm head under pressure.
  • Excellent English communication; ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, GitHub Copilot CLI) as part of your daily workflow - writing infrastructure code, debugging incidents, drafting runbooks - and building lightweight automation around them (custom prompts, scripts, CI integrations, agent-driven workflows).

Nice to have

  • Experience in fintech, payments, or other regulated, high-availability environments.
  • Hands-on familiarity with PCI-DSS or comparable compliance frameworks.

Tech stack

Java · Spring Boot · Kafka · SQL · REST / JSON · Kubernetes · Docker · AWS · Linux · OpenSearch
