About the role

PaymentIQ is looking for an Accounting Lead to own accounting and financial reporting. Since our February 2026 carve-out from Worldline we have been building the finance function from scratch, and our bond issuance has raised the bar: IFRS adoption, five legal entities to consolidate, quarterly publication, and a policy framework that meets bond and Nasdaq standards. This role owns that agenda.

This is a hands-on role for someone who already knows this work well. You will report directly to the CFO and work alongside two accountants and a business controller, with real freedom to decide how the work gets done. What makes it unusual is the mandate that comes with it. We have just implemented a new ERP, our reporting is being automated as we go, and we expect whoever takes this seat to lead how data, automation and AI are used across the finance function. It is a rare chance to design a modern finance function from a clean slate rather than inherit one, and we would rather hire someone who is energised by that than someone looking for a steady seat.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead IFRS consolidation and prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including all notes
  • Drive automation and continuous process improvement across accounting, including AI-enabled ways of working
  • Support bookkeeping, tax reporting, and transfer pricing across our Swedish, Dutch, Maltese, and North Macedonian entities
  • Own audit readiness and act as the main contact for auditors
  • Build out our finance policies and procedures to the level expected under our bond terms and Nasdaq rules
  • Support bond and covenant monitoring together with the CFO

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in qualified accounting or financial reporting, from audit, a group accounting function, or both
  • Strong practical IFRS knowledge, including hands-on experience owning a group consolidation
  • Experience preparing external financial statements; bond or listed-company reporting is a strong advantage
  • Solid understanding of Swedish accounting and tax rules; multi-entity, multi-currency experience is a plus
  • Experienced in ERP and consolidation systems
  • Genuinely interested in what data, automation and AI can do in a finance function, and keen to keep building that skill set alongside your accounting expertise
  • Able to work independently and take full ownership in a small team without established routines
  • Fluent English; Swedish is an advantage

Why join us?

  • Own the accounting and reporting agenda of a newly independent, bond-financed group, reporting directly to the CFO
  • A genuine clean slate: new ERP, brand-new system infrastructure, and the freedom to design how the work gets done
  • A real mandate to put data, automation and AI to work across finance, not a side project alongside the day job
  • Direct exposure to the quarterly reporting cycle, our auditors and our bond investors
  • A role that grows as the group grows
  • Competitive compensation package, aligned with seniority and experience
  • Flexible working arrangements supporting a healthy work-life balance
  • A collaborative culture that values expertise, ownership and getting things done
